MOTIVATE * OVERCOME * VARIETY * EVOLVE

We are very excited to bring on a new program to encourage more people to MOVE and stay motivated during the winter months. This FREE, 8-week program begins January 6 and ends March 2, 2014. Overcome the winter blues with a variety of exercise opportunities and educational workshops in a group setting. Watch yourself evolve into a stronger person both physically and mentally, having stayed active through the colder months.

Tuesdays from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm* Walk or Run at Verona Park, Verona, NJ (meet near the boathouse)
Wednesdays from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm* Walk sponsored by Bike & Walk Montclair at Nishuane Park, Cedar Avenue (between High Street and Harrison Avenue), Montclair, NJ
Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Walk or Run at Fleet Feet Montclair, 603 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair, NJ
Saturdays from 8:30 am to 9:30 am Walk or Run at Fleet Feet Montclair

*For your safety, please bring your own reflective gear and hydration when attending group activities in the dark.

All participants will be asked to sign a one-time M.O.V.E. Participant Waiver at the first M.O.V.E. event attended.

Sunday, February 2

1:00 - 2:00 p.m.  Free Community Yoga Class compliments of Garden State Yoga at 71 Washington Street, Bloomfield, NJ. Reservations are not required. Space is limited to a first come, first served basis, therefore, early arrival is recommended.

Wednesday, February 5

7:30 - 8:30 p.m. "Strength Training For Runners" at Fleet Feet Montclair, presented by JAG Physical Therapy. Learn the importance of strength training for runners, how to improve speed and overall time with strengthening exercises, how to decrease your chance of injury by up to 50% with simple strengthening and proper dynamic warm-ups.  

Thursday, February 6 

6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Featured Physician - Come to the store and speak with a representative from Montclair Physical Therapy, 47 South Park Street, Montclair, NJ. Ask questions, discuss injuries or fatigue you may be experiencing and receive general overall wellness advice. No appointment necessary; all are welcome. 

Sunday, February 9

9:00 - 10:00 a.m.  Fleet Feet Trail Excursion at Eagle Rock Reservation, Prospect Avenue & Eagle Rock Avenue, West Orange, NJ. 

1:00 - 2:00 p.m.  Free Community Yoga Class compliments of Garden State Yoga at 71 Washington Street, Bloomfield, NJ. Reservations are not required. Space is limited to a first come, first served basis, therefore, early arrival is recommended. 

Monday, February 10

7:30 - 8:30 p.m.  "Sugar Blues" Lecture at Fleet Feet Montclair, presented by Laura Peifer, MSW, Holistic Health Coach. Understand the cause of sugar cravings and learn how to kick the habit. Q & A at the end.

Wednesday, February 19

7:30 - 8:30 p.m. "Crossfit Injury Prevention" Lecture at Fleet Feet Montclair, presented by JAG Physical Therapy. Learn how to safely incorporate cross training into your exercise routine and avoid injury with stretching techniques. Reserve your spot here.

Sunday, February 23

9:30 - 10:30 a.m.  FREE IM=X(R) Pilates Demo Class at Fleet Feet Montclair, sponsored by Dr. Michael Magwood of Pure Balance Center. Maximum space available for this class is 12 participants. Space is available on a first come, first served basis. Reserve your spot here.
