BLACK GIRLS RUN MONTCLAIR RUN/WALK GROUP WINTER HIATUS - will return in the Spring of 2017
We host Black Girls Run (BGR) from spring to late fall on Tuesday nights with the exception of the second Tuesday of the month, at 5:30 pm. Join us for a 1, 2 or 3 mile walk/run starting and ending at Fleet Feet Sports Montclair. Black Girls Run is a national health initiative open to all women of any ethnicity. The goal is to encourage women to stay fit and active. All fitness levels are welcome. This is a great group of support for walkers and runners who want to establish healthy lifestyle habits. Please arrive 15 minutes early to stretch. Contact Montclair BGR Run Coordinator, Elena Coley, for details and additional questions. For more information about BGR check out their link at http://www.blackgirlsrun.com/.
THURSDAY NIGHT FUN RUN/WALK AT 6:00 PM
This is a friendly social group for walkers, run/walkers and runners. We run in the Fleet Feet Montclair neighborhood for one or two 3 mile loops (approximately 30-60 minutes). There are easy turn-around points for 1 mile (at James Street) and 2 miles (at Holland Terrace). All paces are welcome and there is enough or as little mileage as you desire! The route is flat, scenic and easy to navigate. Bring friends, family, co-workers or come alone. It's a great way to make new friends with similar fitness goals.
SUNDAY MORNING LONG RUNS AT 7:00 AM
This is a fun group of people who are either training for endurance events such as half marathons or marathons, or simply enjoy running longer distances. We run through parts of Montclair and park settings for 6-8+ miles (approximately 60-90+ minutes). We will help match you with others of similar pace.
For turn by turn directions and maps of Thursday night and Sunday morning group runs visit our Running Routes page.
Please wear reflective vests, jackets or blinking lights during the winter months.
